The Importance of Confidence in Pursuing Goals
A lot of people ask me: Why?
Why do you bother?
Why do you do it?
Why do you care?

The answer is pretty simple. Have you ever wanted to do something but perhaps lacked the confidence? Or maybe you thought people would talk negatively about your ambitions? Well, that’s exactly why I do it. I believe everyone deserves to have confidence in themselves. Everyone should have someone who believes in them, even if it's just one person to start with.
Breaking Down Barriers
How many ideas do you have that you disregard? You might think, “No, that’s too much money,” or “I don’t know enough about it,” or “People won’t go for it.” My response to that is straightforward: you don’t know for certain that people won’t go for it until you try!
Everyone deserves to have someone in their corner. It doesn’t matter what they’re doing; it’s always nice to have a safety cushion—even if it's only to vent to.
You really can’t predict how something will work until you try it. Look at Gareth Southgate; many people doubted him as we approached the 2024 Euros, yet we made it to the final! He dared to try something different, and a small minority believed in him, which empowered him to succeed.
Supporting Others in Their Journey
There are times when I might not fully believe in someone’s idea. However, I still engage with them about it and support them as best I can. Sometimes, I find myself standing corrected. Other times, we review what happened and discuss what we can do differently.
Business is much like that. It’s an ongoing review of the previous day, month, or year. We continuously assess what went well, what could improve, and what should be swept into the WPB. (And if you don’t know what a WPB is, then you might want to ask your grandparents!)
The Role of Hospitality in Business
The hospitality arm of the business, here within the Kingston Group, embodies this philosophy. We prioritize listening before anything else. We support and believe that a product or service can be crafted, and we work closely with clients to ensure their vision doesn’t end up in the WPB.
In life, opportunities often arrive when you least expect them. I remember one phone call that changed the course of another business. It came while I was sitting in the kitchen, enjoying a brew during lunch. What made me believe I could make this thing work was a simple conversation. Someone said to me, “Do it!” I will forever be grateful to that person for her unwavering support and belief in my abilities.
Overcoming Challenges Together
In 2017, she was my anchor—someone who believed in me and provided the safety net I needed. She frequently picked me back up when I faced setbacks, encouraging me to push forward. Together, we got through it.
Again, in 2020, during one of life's darkest times, someone else reiterated, “You’ve got this!” That person was someone I had known my entire life. He was my rock—calm, reassuring, and often the one with all the answers! His advice and methods have become ingrained in my mind, and if ever asked when I can do something, my answer will always be "Tuesday!"
Encouragement to Explore Ideas
That’s why I rarely say no. Instead, I often respond with “What if you try it this way?”
So, give those thoughts a whirl! Drag them from your mind to paper, and start talking about them. What’s stopping you? Make a list of ideas. If you're unsure where to start, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Remember, sometimes what you want may require a lot of effort. You just need to be sure that you want it badly enough!
Conclusion: The Power of Belief in Achieving Dreams
In conclusion, it’s the belief in oneself and having supportive people around that can lead to remarkable transformations. No one should go through their journey alone. We are here to lift each other up, to foster confidence, and to embrace new opportunities together.

With that said, carry on dreaming! Just remember, your ideas are valid and worth exploring. Together, we can make great things happen.
